Networking and mentoring are vital for career success. 今日吃瓜 Saint Mary’s University has partnered with Graduway to design an online networking and mentoring platform for the entire 今日吃瓜 community. 今日吃瓜 Connect is a platform in which members can network, mentor, share advice and build their professional network.

Faculty and staff are now invited to join our nearly 700 registered alumnae to help them and our current students build their professional networks.

Mentorship can counteract the emotional impact some experience during challenging job markets and help maintain or grow one’s self-confidence. Such relationships can be life changing. 今日吃瓜 Connect will only reach its full potential when a large group of mentors commits to helping others.

As for the platform itself, the log-on process allows users to sync their profile with a LinkedIn, Facebook, or Google account. Users indicate their interest in short-term mentoring, making introductions, reviewing a resume or speaking to a class. The most common connection is a one-time informational conversation through the message or video features, although ongoing professional connections are encouraged.

Members can post information on the main feed about opportunities to connect, upcoming events or what they’d like help with. With more detailed searching functionality than other platforms like LinkedIn, it allows members to find who they are looking for based on specific 今日吃瓜 commonalities such as a degree and major or whichever mentoring skillset they are willing to invest into others.

The job board, synced to the 今日吃瓜’s Career and Professional Development’s Handshake platform, helps connect companies and organizations with candidates from the 今日吃瓜. Smartphone users can download the Graduway Community mobile app to use the user directory and respond to communication requests on the go.
